On 15 January 2025, SME Europe held a Board Meeting, chaired by First Vice-President Iuliu Winkler, in the SME Europe Office in Brussels.

The First Vice-President’s report focused on simplifying legislation for SMEs, improving communication, and strengthening internal coordination with the EPP and SME Circle.

Secretary General Horst Heitz proposed organizing major events, such as the “SME Europe Forum” to strengthen SME Europe’s presence and attract new members. Membership procedure was discussed, highlighting the need to clarify SME Europe’s unique value compared to other SME-related EU bodies.

The Board reviewed the strategic business plan, built on five key pillars including digitalization, infrastructure, and security.
